Expect the Unexpected

Expect the unexpected. This can have a rather ominous sound to it, akin to: prepare for the worst! Or perhaps others read it with a sigh of resignation, akin to: the only constant is change. As someone who likes to plan, prepare, and maybe sometimes control my daily environment I rarely think of this statement as prepare to be delighted! But the more I pay attention the more I find delight everywhere.

On a recent family trip, we enjoyed a half-day guided wildlife tour and saw two moose at a distance. Later that same day while strolling around our rental condo we came upon this sight. No fee or guide was required and even the binoculars weren't that necessary. Just being alert and in the right place at the right time. Ah, the awe and wonder of the unexpected!
